It is no secret that Lisbon is rapidly changing. Streets with derelict buildings occupied by North African immigrants are side by side with wonderfully renovated Art Deco architecture, posh private houses, but also faceless hotel blocks that could be anywhere in the world.
This change comes at an price, and several people we talked to who were born here, cannot afford anymore to live in the city and moved away. In the summer months, Lisbon begins to become seriously overcrowded, good for the tourism industry in the short term, but maybe not a sustainable model.
